When will I receive my ticket(s) 
Tickets for this match will be emailed out to the lead supporter who purchased the tickets. Club Athletic have advised that the emails containing the PDF tickets will start to be sent Monday 15th September throughout the day. If you have not received your ticket(s) by 3pm on Monday 15th September, please contact us here or call our Supporter Services team on: +442076195000. 
 
Ticket Collection 

For Season Ticket holders who have been selected to collect their ticket full information on the ticket collection point in Bilbao will be emailed to the lead booker. If you are collecting a ticket, you will be required to collect this in person with Government issued photo ID (passport or driving license). Third party collections will not be permitted, and only the person named on the membership/ticket will be able to collect.

Getting to and from the Stadium 

 
The Estadio de San Mamés is in central Bilbao and accessible from a number of locations. 
 
Underground 
The Metro operates daily between 06:00 – 23:00  
The best ticket option is the BARIK Card (money card) that allows also travel in groups.  It can be used in trains, metro and buses. 
 
Teh stadium has its own station theSantimami/San Mameslocated on the L1 and L2 lines 
The length of underground network is only 45 kilometres, which means that, for example, from the last station on the right bank (Plentzia) to Santimami-San Mamés only takes 40 minutes. You can check the stations, the arrival time of Underground trains and the duration of a journey via the Metro Bilbao website here. 

 

All metro stations in the city, including the Santimami San Mamés station are accessible for disabled passengers with lifts and level boarding access for wheelchair users and passengers with limited mobility.

Train 

Depending on where you are in Bizkaia (Gernika, Bermeo or Mundaka, for example), you may have to take the train to get to the stadium. Many Euskotren and commuter train routes end in an underground station so you can transfer if you need to and easily get to La Catedral. Some commuter trains do stop at the San Mames train station. 
 

Tram 

The tram has a stop in San Mames. From the city centre (Abando) to the stop near the stadium (San Mames) only takes around 12 minutes.

Bus 

As with the train, both bus services, the one in Bilbao (Bilbobus) and the one in Bizkaia (Bizkaibus) have lines that stop near the San Mames stadium (28, A3411, A3414 y A3915). You can check the Bilbobus bus serviceshere and the Bizkaibus bus serviceshere. 

 

Most of the buses that operate in Bilbao have low-level floors, ramps and space on board for up to two wheelchairs. 

 

Taxis 
To get a taxi in Bilbao, you can use Uber or flag down one from the street in specially designed taxi ranks. Due to the significant number of road closures in place on matchday, it is not advisable to travel to the game via taxi. 
 

Walking 
Depending on where you base yourself in Bilbao the stadium is around a 20–30-minute walk from the city centre.  

 


At the Stadium 
 
Match Tickets 

 
Only supporters with a valid match ticket, with the name of the supporter printed on with corresponding photo ID (Passport or Driving Licence) will be admitted.Damaged or forged tickets/ID, or people who have lost or had their ticket/ID stolen will not be allowed access. Entry into the stadium can be slow. There will be ticket checks and searches at the entrance to the turnstiles. 
 
Tickets are not transferable and cannot be used by any other supporter. Duplicate tickets will not be issued.  
 
Please sit in the seat allocated to you and detailed on your ticket. 
 
Stadium Access 

 
We are seated in Blocks 321-324 and Block 333. These seats are in the top two tiers of the San Mames Stadium and there will be lift access for those who require it. 
 
Supporters will access the ground entering gates 21 & 22 at the South end of the stadium on the corner of Felipe Serrate Kalea & Luis Brinas K. (street). Wheelchair users will access gate 20. 

 

The stadium opens at approximately 16:45 (local time), you are advised to arrive at least 60 minutes prior to kick off to pass through security and ticketing. All supporters must be inside the stadium no later than 30 minutes before kick-off (18:15 local time). 
 
Athletic Club and the Spanish Police have stated that supporters will not be allowed in the stadium if: 

 

- You do not have a valid match ticket and photo ID (Passport/Driving Licence) 

- You have been prohibited from attending sports events in the past 

- You are visibly drunk or under the effect of narcotics  

- You are found to be carrying prohibited items

Food & Drink 
The stadium is cashless. All kiosks will accept all major cards for payment. Alcohol is not served inside the stadium. 

 
 

Flags & Banners 
Flags and banners (excluding sticks/poles) 2m x 1m subject to language & content checks. 
Small bags no bigger than A4 will be permitted. Please note that all bags will be checked upon entry. 
 

 

Prohibited Items 

  • NO PYROTECHNICS, SMOKE BOMBS OR FLARES 

  • No lighters or electronic cigarettes – it is a no smoking stadium 

  • No megaphones and drums 

  • No mobile phone chargers and/or charging packs 

  • No Professional audio or visual recording equipment 

  • No bottles or cans. 

  • Alcohol is banned within the stadium: it is an offence to be under the influence of drink and drugs when you enter the stadium. 

  • Possession and use of recreational drugs is illegal, and any infringement may result in arrest and imprisonment 

  • Discretion lies with the Club Athletic stewards and local police as to who is deemed a safety risk, so please drink sensibly or you may face the possibility of not being allowed to enter the stadium.
