For all travel into Lisbon (even if via other destinations) it is cheaper to travel 2 days prior to the game than 1 day prior. It is recommended to avoid peak travel periods.

Plane
- Direct flights into Lisbon are more expensive than alternative routes.
- 2 Hour 45 Minutes – 3 Hours direct flight to Lisbon from London.
- You can also fly direct to Porto or Faro for cheaper flights and travel to Lisbon via coach/train.
Madrid to Lisbon
- Flight to Madrid - 2.5 hours
- Prices vary and change often
- Madrid to Lisbon – flight time 1.5 hours
From Faro Airport to Lisbon
Train
- Duration: Around 3 hours
- Price: From €12.50–€25 one-way (advance fares available on Comboios de Portugal)
Travel route:
- Take a local bus or taxi from Faro Airport to Faro train station (approx. 10–15 mins)
- Direct trains run from Faro to Lisbon Oriente and Entrecampos stations
- Tip: Intercity (IC) and Alfa Pendular (AP) trains are faster and more comfortable
- Availability: Trains are running as normal around 23–24 May, though demand may increase closer to matchday
Bus
- Duration: Around 3.5–4 hours
- Price: Typically between €5–€20
- Operators: Rede Expressos, FlixBus
- Departure point: Some services leave directly from Faro Airport, others from the city centre
- Arrival: Most buses arrive in central Lisbon (Sete Rios or Oriente)
From Porto Airport to Lisbon
Train
- Duration: Around 3 hours
- Price: From €10–€30
Travel route:
- Take the Metro from Porto Airport (Line E) to Campanhã station (~40 mins)
- Direct Alfa Pendular and Intercity trains run from Campanhã to Lisbon Oriente and Santa Apolónia
- Availability: Services are frequent around 23–24 May and may be busy
Bus
- Duration: Around 3.5–4 hours
- Price: From €5–€20
- Operators: Rede Expressos, FlixBus, ALSA
- Buses run regularly from Porto city centre to Lisbon, with arrivals at Sete Rios or Oriente terminals
Ferry
It is also possible to travel to Lisbon by Ferry, although this is not the quickest option:

Train
There are no direct international train services, but you will be able to travel through France and Spain to reach Portugal. You will then need to use a coach for the final leg.
To go via train, you will first need get to Paris (Eurostar 2h 20m). From Paris, you will be able to get to Irun/Hendaye (TGV 4.5–5.5h) or to Barcelona (TGV ~6h 30m).
You will then be able to head to Madrid (Alvia 5–6h / AVE high-speed train 2h 30m respectively).
Madrid to Lisbon – Currently, there is no direct train. Supporters can:
- Take a train to Badajoz, then a coach to Lisbon
- Or take a direct overnight coach (e.g. ALSA or FlixBus) (-8h)
These journeys can be booked via national rail websites, or with a Eurail/Interrail pass. Always check current schedules before travelling.
Coach
Flix Bus do offer a 40 - hour journey from London to Lisbon. Prices can vary and this will depend on demand and likely increase closer to the game.
Public Transport in Lisbon
Lisboa Card
The Lisboa Card can be used on Public Transport and for various different attractions.
€51 for 48 hours and €31 for 24 hours. It will allow you access to the below services:
- Metro
- Buses
- Trams
- Funiculars
- CP trains to Sintra, Cascais, and the south margin of the Tagus River

Viva Viagem Card
The Viva Viagem (also known as Navegante Occasional) is a contactless, reusable card that facilitates travel across Lisbon's public transport network. This includes:
- Metro
- Carris buses and trams
- Ferries (Transtejo/Soflusa)
- Suburban trains (CP and Fertagus)
Each card costs €0.50 and is valid for one year from the date of purchase. Please note that the card is personal and non-transferable, meaning each traveller must have their own card. It can be topped up at most stations and Paypoints.
